Our team installs sod for landscapers, golf courses, and residential and commercial customers. All you have to do is water it. Homeowners and landscapers need to prepare their sod before installation.

Prepare their soil before installation.

Ground Preparation

  • Remove all plants and debris.
  • Till two to four inches deep and level the area.
  • Leave a one inch lip around sidewalks, driveways, or any existing grass.
  • If desired, apply a starter fertilizer to the soil before installation.
  • Apply a basic 12-12-12 fertilizer over the top of the sod one to two weeks after it has been installed.

Laying Sod

  • Install sod immediately upon delivery.
  • Water the sod as soon as possible to lower stress on it.
  • Stagger the sod in a brick-like pattern, so the seams are not all together, placing the ends as close together as possible without stretching the sod.
  • Tuck ends together in a slight folding-under motion. If sod gets too dry it will shrink, leaving small gaps and seams.
